  • Do your research Knowledge is power, do your research. But realize that you won’t be able to control every aspect of your pregnancy, delivery or being a parent. And when you think you have; fate throws you a curveball (I never envisaged I would have a 32 week term preemie).  
  • Less is more Get the big items for the future baby first and the basics – you can always add more as you go.  
  • Get ready to go! Get a hospital bag packed (with basic hygiene products and other essentials) a good 2+ months before your due date.  
  • Watch your baby He/she knows what she needs better than anyone or any book can tell you. They are also surprisingly resilient.
  • Baby’s routine Routine for baby is very important – but flexible routine even more so. Its ok to deviate sometimes, life is not set in stone and its ok  
  • Prioritize! Make a list of the most important activities for you. And within this, time for yourself and your partner is mandatory, not a luxury
